Beacon Capital Management’s 2025 Charitable Giving Initiative | Dayton Community Support

There’s something special about seeing a team come together for a cause that matters. Over the past few months, our Beacon Capital Management family rallied around our annual charitable giving initiative, and watching it unfold reminded me why I’m so proud to be part of this organization. We set out to make a tangible difference in the Dayton, Ohio community and our team showed up in incredible ways.

A Cause Close to Home

For our main charitable project this year, we organized a company-wide food drive benefiting The Foodbank, Inc. For those of us who live and work in Dayton, we see firsthand the critical role this organization plays in our community. They’re the backbone of hunger relief across the Miami Valley, providing food distribution to over 110 member agencies: food pantries, community kitchens, and shelters that serve our neighbors when they need it most.

The response from our team was incredible. With everyone pitching in whether working from the office or remotely, we collected over 620 items that will directly help families facing food insecurity:

  • 338 pantry staples
  • 90 baking supplies and mixes
  • 78 meal and side items
  • 62 household and personal care products
  • 45 snacks and nuts
  • 7 pet care items

Seeing boxes fill up week after week reminded me that every single can, every box of pasta, every bag of rice represents a meal for someone in our community.

We also contributed $4,706 to The Foodbank’s general operations fund, supporting the logistics that make their mission possible–the essential work of acquiring, transporting, and distributing food across the Miami Valley so every donation reaches families who need it most.

Expanding Our Impact

Our giving extended beyond The Foodbank. We supported three additional organizations doing remarkable work for vulnerable members of our community, each representing a different way of showing up for families and children who need it most.

Ronald McDonald House Dayton received $5,882 to continue providing free lodging, meals, and support services to families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. When a child is critically ill or injured, parents shouldn’t have to worry about where they’ll sleep or how they’ll afford to stay close to their child’s bedside.

For Love of Children (FLOC) received $4,706 to support their Christmas for Kids program and other initiatives providing financial, educational, and enrichment support for children who are neglected, abused, fostered, or underprivileged. Every child deserves opportunities to thrive.

FosterHub received $4,706 to continue their work with youth who have aged out of foster care. These young people face an incredibly challenging transition into adulthood, and FosterHub provides the housing, life skills training, and community support that can make all the difference in helping them build stable, successful futures.

Building Something Bigger

Our commitment to Dayton is rooted in our Partnership First value and the belief that being a good partner means showing up when it matters, and that includes being a partner for our neighbors in our home community. At Beacon, we are committed to creating impact that extends far beyond portfolios and returns. The Foodbank, Ronald McDonald House, For Love of Children, and FosterHub are all addressing genuine hardship in our local community. We’re part of this community, and we’re proud to stand alongside organizations creating meaningful change one meal, one family, one life at a time.
